PART II  SUPPORTING ARGUMENTS

THE RELATIVITY OF SIMULTANEITY

The rational presented here will be brief.  Either there is such a happening as simultaneous events or there is not such a happening as simultaneous events.  If there is, then simultaneous events are a reality valid throughout the universe and hence not relative by the very nature of their simultaneous existence.  What is relative nonetheless is the information that an observer receives respecting such simultaneous events and how that information is interpreted; however, unique frames of reference do not justify unique standards of reality.

By the same token, if there isn't such a happening as simultaneous events, clap your hands.  Does the universe stop when you clap your hands?  It does not.  Therefore it is apparent that throughout the universe innumerable events transpired simultaneously with the clapping of your hands.  Your awareness or lack thereof concerning those events or your ability to correctly interpret information received regarding the simultaneity of those events has no bearing on the occasion of that simultaneity.

Note:  In essence the argument for the relativity of simultaneity is Einstein's attempt at justifying the use of a relative as opposed to an absolute standard of time and hence is his pretext for the unorthodox transvaluation of time employed in the Lorentz equations.
